Redeemer is hosting a performance workshop for young musicians this summer!
Whether you need the spark to get started on your instrument, or a jolt that will boost your skills higher, the Circuit Music Performance Workshop is an immersive musical growth experience for each level of performer designed to electrify your ability and creativity.
The Midtown Circuit Workshop is Mon-Fri, 1-4pm, June 20th-24th with a week's end concert that Friday Night @ 6p.
Beginners will attain a solid foundation on their instrument, be introduced to key concepts and techniques, and be inspired for future growth by live demonstrations. Intermediate & Advanced musicians will each explore a variety of songs, progressions, and solos that take their rhythm, comping, and melodic improvisation to the next level by learning and utilizing the level-specific techniques needed to play them. All Performers will enhance their performance skills (group/solo) with customized genre-specific guidance.
The defining feature of this workshop is that students are exposed to the profound benefits of collaborating with their peers while getting level-specific instruction. This culminates in the Circuit Concert where they showcase their work for a live audience along side some of Memphis’ top musicians.
Ages 10-18, Musicians are grouped according to skill level: Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced
Sign Up is $25 online, or you can register at RPC (651 Cooper St) with this PDF. The registration for the rest of camp due on the 2nd day (6/21) is $150 per individual, or $125 each if signing up as a group. Includes enrollment in the weeklong workshop, CD recording of your best work from the week, and registration to the Mid-Summer Night City-Wide Circuit Concert.
Supplies: Notebook, list of favorite music and/or originals, and instrument.
